KOA RIDGE

Many ingredients need to come together to create a thriving community.  While there is no simple recipe for creating a community, there are best practices that should be followed.  As we developed the Master Plan for Koa Ridge, we used our 40 years of community building experience and augmented it with the most current best practices on Smart Growth, Sustainability, and Urban Design.  The Master Plan provides a roadmap to create a vibrant, mixed-use community that incorporates Koa Ridge?s core values and guiding principles, which we developed jointly with the community.

 

Working with our community visioning partners and renowned planning and cultural consultants, we have made significant strides toward a well-conceived Master Land Use Plan. The next steps will be completing an Environmental Impact Statement and obtaining State Land Use Commission approval. We will then seek rezoning approval from the City and County of Honolulu.

 

Groundbreaking for Koa Ridge Makai is expected in 2010 and the first homes are likely to be ready for occupancy in 2012.
